Listen to Dr. John Knab on The Health Me Podcast as he covers Previous Pain Management Options, PRP Injections, Types of Injections, Limitations and Preparing For Consult, Spine Health & Bacteria, Future of Medicine.

In this podcast, Dr. John Knab discusses from an insider’s perspective on orthobiologics and pain management treatments. He also talks about the need for innovation in pain management.

“Drugs and surgery are not the cure that we hoped they would be. That goes especially for opioids… We all know the risks of opioids. It affects our biology,” he goes on to say, “Steroids decrease your immune function for a measurable period of time. If I give someone a steroid shot and then they tell me: ‘Oh, I just got my Covid booster yesterday,’ well then that Covid Booster will not be as effective as it would have been if I hadn’t given them the steroids.”

Regarding orthobiologics, Dr. Knab talks about the effectiveness in areas of the body and where PRP Injections can be helpful.

“Platelets are found in pretty much every part of bodies, so it [PRP therapy] can be used pretty much anywhere you think there’s blood flow and there’s been an injury.”
