Pain Always There? CPM Rolls Out Shockwave Therapy

November 6, 2019 By //  by Ann Williams

At CPM, we see a lot of patients who want relief for back pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, elbow pain along with other musculoskeletal issues. With Wilmington being a hub for the active lifestyle community, we have taken on the mission to help everyone live with passion, not pain. As a result, we’re always looking for the newest medical innovations to accomplish that goal. So, when we recently started to offer shockwave technology, we realized it was time to share this exciting treatment option with the world!

“We’re thrilled about the possibilities this technology brings to help people with all types of chronic pain,” CPM’s Dr. Knab said.

CPM’s TWO new Curamedix Shockwave devices are FDA approved and will be used to treat patients with acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain in the feet and ankles, lower extremities, upper extremities, back and chest, shoulder, neck, and muscular trigger points.

“This is just one more modern device in our orthobiologic medicine offerings,” CPM’s Dr. Arora said.

The Curamedix Shockwave, with Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Technology (EPAT/ESWT), is a non-surgical option for those with chronic pain. This procedure has minimal down-time and risk; caters to patient convenience; and produces excellent clinical outcomes.

How does it work?

The Focused Shockwave Device uses an electromagnetically generated shockwave produced within a hand-held applicator. The shockwave device is unique, since it does two things: First it finds the painful areas, and then it treats them!

In partnering with Curamedix, we have chosen a company that is leading the industry in innovation and performance for the treatment of pain associated with chronic musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions. CPM would love to have you in for a consult to see if our newest shockwave technology is a fit for you.
